Basic Policies for Novel Coronavirus Disease Control by the Japanese Central Government

The Basic Policy was first announced on February 25 2020, and it has been subsequently revised 4 times, on March 28, April 7, April 11 and on April 17. The Japanese versions are available in the official Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. The Japanese government has published a summary in English for the April 7 version. For the benefit of English-reading audiences, we translated the latest April 17. We adopted a literal translation, as we intended to minimize any discrepancy between the official Japanese version and our English version. For this reason, the English version is somewhat harder to read, but we hope for your understanding.
